What a tacky contact ring means
If the fourth eligible same-hide sample leaves a tacky contact ring and the fifth blank no longer seats flat, stop before the fifth output. The trigger is the changed fixture condition, not the number four.
Inspect after shutdown and cooling
- 1. Refuse unknown synthetic, PVC-coated, chrome-tanned, bonded, or finish-uncertain leather.
- 2. Use active ventilation, continuous supervision, and a clean identified fixture.
- 3. After safe shutdown and cool-down, inspect the contact face, locating edges, and capture path.
- 4. Restart only after the cleaning method and one eligible retained sample restore the accepted condition.

Leather fixture questions
Is leather odor a normal production timer?
No. Odor is not proof of safe chemistry. A new or stronger odor is a stop signal that requires review.
Can I clean every ten pieces?
A count may be recorded, but it cannot replace observed condition. Different hides, finishes, artwork, and airflow can change deposition.
Does ventilation make unknown leather safe?
No. Ventilation does not identify material or make PVC, synthetic coatings, or unknown finishes eligible.
