When curved lettering loses the tops or ends of letters after export, inspect the artwork bounds before changing laser power. If the pixels or paths are already absent from the exported file, no machine setting can restore them. Compare the editable design, exported file and imported preview in that order.

LaserPecker's Edit Bar documentation specifically notes that curved text may extend beyond its editing area. Its padding control is a vendor-specific example of the issue, not a control promised in TYVOK software.
Find the stage that removes the letters
Open the exported file in a viewer other than the authoring program. Enlarge the top of the arc and its two endpoints. Look for a perfectly straight cutoff through several letters: that is a useful clue to an image edge or clipping boundary. It is different from a complete letter that becomes too small to resolve on wood.
| Comparison | Likely branch to investigate | Next reversible action |
|---|---|---|
| Editable curve already clipped | Text box or source clipping | Expand the relevant bounds in a copy |
| Source complete, export cropped | Export page or selection area | Export the full visible artwork |
| Export complete, import incomplete | Import interpretation | Try a supported export and compare |
| All previews complete, physical mark incomplete | Placement or machine setup | Stop and inspect actual field and focus |
Do not add a black rectangle behind the curve merely to enlarge its bounds; that rectangle may become engraving content. Use the editor's actual page, canvas or export-area controls and inspect the resulting background.
Padding also changes placement
Extra blank margin can move the visible name inside its image box. Recheck the final size of the lettering itself, not only the overall bitmap dimensions. If only the text changes relative to surrounding shapes, the SVG text-unit check addresses a different cause than cropping.
Keep the curved text editable until the final wording and arc are approved. Before flattening an entire name layout, save the editable master; otherwise correcting a clipped final letter may mean rebuilding the curve from scratch.
For the TYVOK P2, the export must suit the software and installed configuration you actually use. The P2 is a blue-diode galvo engraver; the presence of a LaserPecker example does not imply LDS compatibility. Proof the complete mark on a compatible spare blank using the specified support, focus, extraction and protection. Software margins do not enlarge the machine's physical marking field.
Is transparent padding always ignored by the laser?
Do not assume so. Different import paths can interpret transparency or its background differently. Inspect the processing preview and a small material proof to confirm that the intended empty area stays unmarked.
Can I solve clipping by reducing the font size?
It may hide the symptom while making the words harder to read. Correct the file boundary first, then choose the final readable size inside the actual blank and marking field.
