Interpret the long and short axes

Should a diode focus look perfectly round?

Not necessarily. Diode beams can have different axes, so the useful question is whether the documented focus method produces an acceptable, repeatable mark on the eligible surface.

Does a dark mark prove the P2 engraved aluminum?

No. The interaction is with the known anodized or coated surface. It does not prove bare-aluminum engraving or cutting.

Can I keep changing power while focusing?
