Keep an editable original, then make a separate copy whose italic letters and underline are represented by actual shapes supported by the receiving software. Converting text to paths may preserve the letters while leaving an underline decoration behind, so inspect those two elements separately.
A September SVG import question reports that italics and underlines disappeared even though other editors displayed them. That is a specific artwork-transfer problem, not proof that every LightBurn version or A1 Mini file behaves the same way.
Identify what the source really contains
An italic face, an electronically slanted regular face and a shape transformed to look slanted are different source constructions. Similarly, an underline can be a text decoration, a line object or a narrow filled rectangle. A thumbnail hides those distinctions.
Save the source with its text still editable. In a duplicate, inspect the font face and decorations, then use the editor's supported conversion command. Reopen the exported copy and compare its silhouette against the original. Do not assume a conversion was complete because the letters are no longer editable.
Verify letters and underline independently

If the underline vanished, rebuild it as an explicit element in the proof copy. Match its length and spacing to the approved reference. Its operation should reflect the intended appearance: tracing a line and filling a thin rectangle are not automatically equivalent physical results.

Keep the fix specific to the missing style
This is different from a missing font character or an unsupported linked picture. The dotted-stroke example shows a related transfer trap, where apparent holes are only a display style. In both cases, inspect the structure of what was drawn instead of trusting the source application's appearance.
For an A1 Mini project, confirm the current supported import route and prepare inside the machine's verified area. Use the intended, approved blank for the physical proof. The successful file conversion does not determine focus, material eligibility or the appropriate marking process.
Can I convert only the underline and leave the name editable?
You can retain that construction in the master, but test the exported copy in the receiving application. Keeping text editable is useful for revisions; it does not guarantee the same font and style will be available elsewhere.
Why did the bold letters survive when italics disappeared?
The file may encode the two styles differently, or the receiving application may interpret them differently. Compare the actual font and geometry instead of assuming that one preserved style proves every decoration transferred correctly.
