A product photograph can extend beyond the engraving artwork and influence the bounds used by a particular framing or origin setup. Preserve it in the customer presentation file, then make a production copy containing only the intended job geometry. Check layer output, selected objects and origin together; merely hiding a photograph is not a reliable production check.
In a LightBurn discussion about excluding an image from framing, a maker used photographs to show customers a proposed engraving. The later explanation involved Current Position or User Origin and a background image that changed the expected origin. That is not proof of a universal image-layer fault: the file and positioning choices matter.
Keep the approved placement, remove the presentation baggage
Start with the customer's approved visual and record the engraving width, height and distance from two meaningful edges of the real object. A photograph can be cropped, stretched or taken at an angle, so use measured dimensions rather than treating the image as a calibrated fixture.
Save a separate production file before removing the photograph. Keep any essential placement measurements in a written job record. Then inspect the resulting artwork dimensions: if removing the photo changes which objects are selected or how the job is anchored, resolve that change before framing.

Image layers and tool layers do not necessarily offer identical controls. Consult the options in the installed software instead of assuming that a familiar tool-layer exclusion also applies to the photograph.
Read the preview before moving the machine
Inspect the production preview for image engraving, stray objects and unexpectedly long travel. Compare the full intended output bounds with the measurements on your preparation sheet. A small logo should not have the dimensions of the entire product photograph.
Selection is a separate question: Cut Selected Graphics does not crop selected objects. If a retained vector stretches beyond the work area, selecting only that vector still leaves its complete geometry to resolve.
Follow the machine's supported framing procedure after checking origin and workholding. Use the X1S 2026 boundary-framing check to compare the physical frame with the actual panel. Stop if the expected corner or margin differs; changing origin modes at random can replace one positioning mistake with another.
Product setup still needs a physical reference
The TYVOK X1S 2026 configuration page is the place to confirm workspace and software support for your machine. A reference-photo workflow does not establish camera capability or camera calibration. Verify the approved material, focus arrangement and panel support before an attended sample operation; a convincing mockup alone proves none of those conditions.
Can I keep a photograph if its output is disabled?
Possibly, but inspect both the preview and the framing/origin behavior of that exact file. The simplest way to remove ambiguity is a production copy without the photograph, while retaining the original customer presentation separately.
Why does the frame move after I remove the background?
The job's bounding box or selected-object bounds may have changed, which can affect a relative origin. Recheck the intended anchor against the physical workpiece rather than assuming its old position still applies.
