I picked up this 12-pack of colored basswood sheets to make custom puzzles for my grandchildren, and they turned out to be a fantastic choice. The dimensions were spot on at 300mm x 300mm x 3mm, just as advertised. The paint colors are vibrant, and unlike some other brands I’ve used, these didn’t have any weird chemical smell, which is a plus. Even better, every sheet in the pack was flawless—no visible defects in the wood or paint. Score!
I used a laser cutter for most of the pieces, and it worked like a charm—no issues at all. After cutting, I did a bit of touch-up painting (totally my fault), lightly sanded a few edges, and finished everything off with a spirit-based clear coat to prevent warping. The end results looked fantastic, and I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out.
Overall, this was a great experience, and I’d definitely recommend these plywood sheets. If you’re new to working with basswood, just make sure to store them in a low-humidity, room-temperature environment to keep them in top shape. Happy crafting!
