Simplify a duplicate of the Illustrator artwork, then compare its geometry with the approved master at the intended output size. Fewer anchor points are useful only when the important curves, corners and openings survive. A smaller file or quicker editing response does not establish faster machine output.
Adobe's path simplification documentation describes removing unnecessary anchor points. That gives an operator a specific way to investigate a cumbersome imported design without replacing the accepted artwork immediately.
Start with the features that cannot change
Before simplifying, identify the parts of the drawing that determine acceptance. A decorative leaf can tolerate a different curve more readily than a locating notch or a narrow letter opening. Put the master somewhere it cannot be overwritten accidentally. Record its finished width and height, and save a separate working copy.
Choose the troublesome path instead of simplifying every object indiscriminately. Keep a screenshot of its original node count if the application exposes one. Use the simplification preview conservatively, looking especially at sharp corners and tight reversals. Stop if a feature changes visibly, even when the node reduction looks impressive.
A hypothetical ornament comparison
Suppose a shop receives a 90 mm ornament with a leaf border, two hanging holes and a small year inscription. The supplier's SVG contains dense traced curves. Make one untouched reference and two progressively simplified copies, keeping all three at 90 mm.

Overlay the copies with the master in different colors. At high magnification, inspect sensitive contours; at actual finished size, inspect appearance. If the gentler copy passes and the stronger one rounds a leaf tip, retain the gentler copy regardless of its larger node count. This is an example decision process, not a dimensional tolerance supplied by TYVOK.
Reimport the selected SVG into the supported production software and verify again. A good Illustrator comparison does not rule out a transfer problem. If nesting follows, check that interior cutouts remain attached to their parent shapes. If the path sequence itself looks wrong, investigate imported vectors and cut-order preview separately.

The X1S Pro product page lists SVG and LightBurn support. Confirm the installed workflow before transfer. Approve a supervised sample on documented compatible material before releasing repeated parts.
Will reducing anchor points make every job run faster?
No. Editing complexity, output paths and material processing are different constraints. Record preparation time separately from actual job time; do not buy equipment or promise delivery savings from node count alone.
Can I discard the original once the simplified version looks right?
Keep it. A future customer revision may depend on a corner or contour that was altered. Store the released copy with its comparison notes so the next operator can identify exactly what was accepted.
