X1S Pro 800×2000mm: Large-Format Buyer Guide

X1S Pro 800×2000mm: Large-Format Buyer Guide

An 800 × 2000 mm layout can change what a small workshop can fit into one job, but the machine behind the layout must be described accurately. TYVOK X1S Pro is a blue diode laser system with a moving X/Y-axis head. It is not a CO₂ tube machine or a mirror-scanning galvo. The current 800 × 2000 mm product listing shows 20W and 60W diode options; select the configuration before comparing price, output or accessories. The following checks are intended for a buyer considering signs, panels and repeat workshop work.

Start with the exact workspace configuration

The 800 × 2000 mm dimensions describe the selected long-format setup, not every X1S Pro bundle. Check the product variant, frame or extension parts, platform and the space needed around the machine for loading and ventilation. The 800 mm dimension is the nominal X direction; 2000 mm is the nominal Y travel of the long setup. A panel exactly that size leaves no practical margin for clamps, alignment and material defects. Measure your usable blank after adding those allowances. If your main products are small tags, a long bed may create handling cost without increasing sellable output.

The moving head and frame make it possible to work across a large layout. They do not provide the high-speed mirror motion of a galvo. Compare completed jobs, including loading, preview, focus checks and cleanup, rather than quoting a scan-speed number from a different machine category. If a supplier offers a dual X-axis configuration, verify its actual contents and control method for the specific order; do not assume it is standard.

Match the diode source to the material

The official X1S Pro product listing identifies it as a diode system. Wood and suitable plywood are common reasons to evaluate it, but cut depth and edge quality depend on species, glue, thickness, focus, air flow and settings. Make a first-piece test on the exact batch and record pass count and total time. Do not use an unsupported promise such as “20 mm wood in one pass” in a customer quote. A photographic engraving sample cannot prove a cut-through claim.

For acrylic, separate dark or opaque stock from clear material. The outcome depends on color and absorption; a blue diode should not be advertised as a general clear-acrylic cutter. Confirm any plastic's composition and laser suitability before processing. Glass, bare metal, stone and coated metal need their own material-specific trials; they should never appear as a blanket list of guaranteed outputs. If the primary order mix requires reliable clear-acrylic processing, compare a suitably specified CO₂ product such as TYVOK K1 instead of relabeling X1S Pro as CO₂.

Buyer question Evidence to obtain before ordering
Will my sign fit? Actual blank dimensions plus fixture and safe-edge margins
Will this material finish well? Marked and cut sample from the same stock lot
Which power option? Selected variant and timed sample for the real artwork
Can I meet a deadline? Accepted pieces per hour including setup and inspection
What is included? Confirmed platform, air-assist and enclosure contents

Price the real workflow

A large bed can reduce repositioning on long signs, but it does not guarantee a fixed number of signs per day. Estimate contribution from your own selling price minus blank, machine time, labor, rejects, packaging and overhead. Test at least one representative full-size design, because a fine outline, filled logo and dense photographic engraving have very different run times. Do not project a three-to-six-month payback without actual orders, local prices and an accepted-piece yield. If outsourcing is the alternative, compare the total delivered cost and time of both routes.

Plan a stable bench, appropriate extraction and fire-safe supervision. Treat the product page as a configuration source, then confirm electrical, accessory and service terms for your region. A machine that fits a sample but not the workshop, ventilation route or loading path is not a workable purchase.

A first-piece acceptance test

Choose one blank from the stock you will buy, use production artwork at final physical size, and document the selected X1S Pro variant. Inspect the finished piece under the customer's lighting after cleaning. For a cut part, check the edge and fit; for an engraved sign, check readability at the installed distance. Repeat the test after a material supplier or major setup change. Save the result beside the quote so sales claims stay tied to a real job.

Is X1S Pro a CO₂ or galvo machine? No. The current product listing describes a diode platform with X/Y motion.

Does 60W guarantee one-pass cutting of a named thickness? No. The material and complete setup must be tested.

Does every X1S Pro ship with an 800 × 2000 mm working layout? Confirm the selected bundle and extensions before purchase.

For a long-format workshop setup, review the current X1S Pro variants and purchase options alongside your measured job sample.
